Scribbly G is a 34-year-old South African digital artist currently living in the United Kingdom. The artist described himself as South Africa’s favorite webcomic creator and also possibly the only (still counting) South African webcomic creator. He is the creative master who reveals humorous comics with things that are usually unexpected and sometimes absurd and dark. Scribbly’s artistic journey began 3 years ago and his comics range anywhere from as short as 3 or 4-panel images full of dark humor to as long as 6 panels or more. As long as his design style is clean and relatively simple, his sense of humor is just that. We think it’s fair to say that Scribbly G will appeal to the dark, sinuous side of your soul, giving you those explosive types of snort laughs you can’t control, a kind of smile that can even be a little against your will.

We first asked the artist if he had any significant influences in his life that could have helped him develop and update his style.I’m still trying to figure out my design style. I’d say I’m influenced by shows like Rick and Morty and the classic Cartoon Network stuff mixed with some old-style comics. People tell me they like my style, but I still don’t know what it is I still don’t like the way my own comics look. I’ve learned how much I spend on making a comic look well, it gets worse, there are very few real cartoons for advice and they all just tell me to keep doing what i do, so i do dunno, kick it until I do it. The weird/dark style of humor though comes from some brain injuries and growing up poor with a non-alcoholic father. I haven’t spoken to him in 14 years, but the only thing I can thank him for is, that I no longer have to worry about weird ideas anymore. Thanks, Dad! ”
